This bill was introduced in December of 2013 by Sen. Judy Emmons (R) and has gained the support of the Michigan Association of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Michigan Department of Agriculture and the Director of the Department of Community Health. As I understand the bill presently the “food safety manager” will have received training or viewed an approved video on food allergies. I think this is a wonderful advancement for the State of Michigan and will only make eating in restaurants that much safer for people with food allergies, food sensitivities, etc.
What do you think? Are you in favor of this pending legislation?
